Akyra II

The La Sportiva Akyra II is a trail running shoe designed for longer endurance routes like Ultra Trails and Ultra Marathons. It is indeed excellent for extended use on all off-road terrains. This shoe is very comfortable thanks to several features in its three-layer upper. The first layer is an AirMesh Ultra Comfort that provides, precisely, a comfortable fit. Then there's a heat-adhesive microfiber application called MicroLite Skeleton, which gives the shoe flexibility while maintaining its shape over time. Finally, on the outermost part, there are additional microfiber applications (Flex-Guard) that protect the shoe from abrasions against rocks and branches, yet keeping the shoe light without weighing it down too much. The Akyra is a shoe equipped with unprecedented stability provided by the TrailCage System. This is placed between two layers of the upper and connects to the lacing system, giving the shoe structure and a very snug fit. The sole is a Fixion XT Red compound with an Impact Brake System to improve cushioning and a Trail Rocker system to facilitate the classic rolling motion of the foot during running.
